As a starting point of the SES Project, a Launch seminar, in conjunction with Site Visits, was conducted at the Danube University Krems (DUK), Austria from 03 to 11 March, 2017. The seminar was organized by coordinator DUK.

The event comprised of the following activities:

• BInUCom meets SES

SES team members from Ethiopia, The Netherlands, Germany and Austria met with Indian HEI representatives of the consortium of the project "Building Inclusive Urban Communities" (BInUCom) to discuss issues of informality in housing.

• "Crazy ideas"

Jointly, team members of SES and BInUCom consortia engaged in discussions with experts on divers fields adjacent to housing, such as mobility, cooperatives and sustainability and therein dared to embark on some bold and innovative, "crazy" ideas

• European Site Visits

The Launch seminar was clubbed with site visits to different social housing projects and initiatives in the area of housing in the Austrian capital city Vienna.
