In the chapter, we indicated that gentrification is sometimes portrayed as a 'natural process' - while contrary scientific evidence suggests that it is rather based on economic forces and of political decisions. 

Think about an example of a gentrified neighbourhood in a city you lived in or know well - how has gentrification happened in that case? Can you think of any factors causing it? What could be links to what you've read in chapter 2 on financialization?
